Night 2: Working in the Fog

A Three of Strong Spirits’ twist on the old school tiki classic the Fog Cutter featuring our Working Title Series spirits.

1 oz Double Barreled-Birthday Blend
1 oz Oaked Portage gin
.5 oz oloroso sherry
2 oz orange juice
1 oz lemon juice
.5 oz orgeat
2 dashes pine bitters (we use Vena’s Fizz House)

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Pour into your favorite tiki glass and garnish with palm fronds, mint, or edible orchid.

Orgeat: Orgeat is an almond syrup used in many classic cocktails. It can be purchased at most liquor stores. Be careful about its sweetness though. If too sweet, lower the amount of orange juice used.
To make your own: Bring 1.25 cups water to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and add 1.5 cups sugar. Stir until dissolved. Crush 2 cups almonds until finely ground and stir into syrup. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes. Take off heat and let sit for at least 3 hours; let sit overnight for best results. Strain through cheese cloth or nut-mylk bag. Last for 3 weeks in the fridge.
